REPLACEMENT
HINT:
^ Replace the RH side by the same procedures with LH side.
1. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER STOPPER SUB-ASSY LH
2. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER STOPPER SUB-ASSY RH
3. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
5. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH
6. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER RH
7. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSY
8. REMOVE TOOL BOX COVER
9. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER SUB-ASSY REAR
10. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSY
11. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER INNER LOWER
12. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT
13. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER SIDE LH
14. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER SIDE RH
15. REMOVE WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSY
a. Remove the 10 bolts and wheel hub ornament sub-assy.
16. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
a. Remove the 5 nuts and rear wheel.
17. SEPARATE REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO.2 LH
a. Place matchmarks on the camber adjust cam and suspension arm No. 2.
b. Loosen the nut on the rear suspension member side.
NOTICE: Do not remove it.
c. Remove the nut, bolt, stabilizer link and height control link from the suspension arm No. 2 from the suspension arm No. 2.
d. Remove the shock absorber from the suspension arm No. 2.
e. Remove the nut, camber adjust cam No.1 and No. 2 disconnect the suspension arm No. 2 from the axle carrier.
f. Remove the nut, bolt, and suspension arm No. 2 from the rear suspension member.
18. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
a. Loosen the nut in the center of the suspension support assy.
NOTICE: Do not remove it.
b. Remove the 3 nuts.
c. Remove the 2 bolts and shock absorber with coil spring.
19. REMOVE SHOCK ABSORBER ASSY REAR LH
a. Using SST, compress the coil spring.

NOTICE: Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage the SST.
b. Remove the suspension support nut.
c. Remove the washer, cushion, caller, suspension support assy LH, upper insulator, lower cup, cushion, spring bumper and coil spring.
20. INSPECT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSY REAR LH
a. Compress and extend the shock absorber rod and check that there is no abnormal resistance or unusual operation sound.
If there is any abnormality, replace the shock absorber with a new one.
21. INSTALL SHOCK ABSORBER ASSY REAR LH
a. Using SST, compress the coil spring.

NOTICE: Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage the SST.
b. Install the coil spring to the shock absorber.
HINT: Fit the lower end of the coil spring into the recess of the spring seat of the shock absorber.
c. Install the spring bumper, lower cup, cushion, collar, upper insulator, suspension support, cushion and washer to the shock absorber and temporarily tighten a new nut.
d. Rotate the suspension support so that the rod and 1 of the bolts on suspension support are aligned with lower shock absorber as shown in the illustration.
e. Remove the SST.

HINT: After removing the SST, recheck the direction of the suspension support.
22. INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
a. Install the rear shock absorber with the coil spring.
b. Install the spring support reinforcement with the 3 nuts.
Torque: 64 Nm (650 kgf-cm, 47 ft. lbs.)
c. Fully tighten a new lock nut.
Torque: 28 Nm (286 kgf-cm, 21 ft. lbs.)
d. Install the 2 bolts.
Torque: 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft. lbs.)
23. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO.2 LH
a. Install the suspension arm No. 2 to the rear suspension member with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 110 Nm (1,120 kgf-cm, 81 ft. lbs.)
HINT: After stabilizing the suspension, torque the nut.
b. Install the stabilizer link and height control link to the suspension arm No. 2 with the bolt and nut.
c. Install the shock absorber to the suspension arm No. 2 with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 110 Nm (1,120 kgf-cm, 81 ft. lbs.)
d. Connect the suspension arm No.2 to the axle carrier with the camber adjust cam No. 2, camber adjust cam No.1 and nut.
Torque: 110 Nm (1,120 kgf-cm, 81 ft. lbs.)
24. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
a. Install the front wheel with the 5 nuts.
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
25. INSTALL WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSY
a. Install the wheel hub ornament sub-assy with the 10 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.)
26. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
DISPOSAL
HINT: Dispose the RH side by the same procedures with LH side.
1. DISPOSE OF SMOCK ABSORBER ASSY REAR LH
a. Drill hole to discharge gas from the cylinder.
1. Using a drill, make a hole in the cylinder, as shown to discharge the gas inside.
CAUTION: The gas coming out is harmless, but be careful of chips which may fly up when drilling.
