Intake Manifold: Testing and Inspection

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION





1. INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL FUNCTION
a. Remove the V-bank cover.
b. Set tester to the DLC3.
c. Perform the ACTIVE TEST, then check that the actuator rod operates.
d. Start the engine.
e. Check that the VSV for ACIS is ON under the condition.
^ Depressing the accelerator pedal to accelerator opening percentage 60%.
^ Racing the engine above 4,700 rpm.
f. Check that the VSV for ACIS is OFF under the condition.
^ The engine idling.
^ Release the accelerator pedal when the condition of step (e).

INSPECTION





1. INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR
a. Inspect the diaphragm.
1. Check that the lever moves when vacuum of 39.9 kPa (300 mm Hg) is applied with the mighty bag on.
2. Check that there is no change in the needle after the diaphragm has been left for 1 minute in the above state.





2. INSPECT VACUUM CONTROL VALVE SET
a. Inspect the air-tightness.
1. Check that there is no change in the needle after the diaphragm has been left for minute in the state with vacuum of 60 kPa (450 mm Hg).
2. Check that there is no ventilation when the B port is blown, and there is ventilation the B port is sucked.
