DTC 52

DTC 52 BRAKE SWITCH "A" CIRCUIT

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

DTC P0571/52:




When the brake pedal is depressed, the stop lamp switch sends a signal to ECM. When ECM receives this signal, it cancels the cruise control.

A fail-safe function is provided so that the cancel functions normally even it there is a malfunction in the stop lamp signal circuit.

The cancel condition are: Battery positive voltage at terminal STP
When the brake is depressed, the stop lamp switch turns on, and the battery positive voltage is applied to terminal STP of the ECM via STOP fuse, causing ECM to turns off the cruise control.

If the harness connected to terminal STP has an open circuit, terminal STP will not have battery voltage and the cruise control will be turned off.
