No tools are necessary for the replacement of the valve stem cap.
In the event the Tire Pressure Monitor Valve Sub-Assembly has broken off during removal or the cap cannot be removed by hand, you will also need the tools shown.
5. WORK PROCEDURE
A. REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
1. VALVE STEM CAP REPLACEMENT
(a) Remove all four valve stem caps by hand.
^ If one or more of the valve stem caps cannot be removed or the valve stem has broken off during the removal, replace the corresponding Tire Air Pressure Valve Sub-Assembly only. (Refer to the SC 430 Repair Manual for instructions)
2. VALVE CAP REPLACEMENT
a. Using a soft wire brush, clean the screw threads of each valve stem.
b. Install new valve caps onto the valve stems and tighten by hand.
c. Proceed to Section B. LSC (Completion Label Installation).
B. LSC COMPLETION LABEL INSTALLATION
1. After completing the repair and before returning the vehicle to the owner, an LSC completion label that is enclosed in the owner's notification letter must be affixed to the left front door hinge post near the check strap.
2. The label is to be filled out as follows:
^ Write in LSC 2LB.
^ Write in the date the repair was performed.
^ Write in your dealer code.
3. Additional LSC completion labels, in sheets of 50 (P/N 00410-01918), may be ordered through the non parts system on a 1450 order form or through the TDN system.
