PRE-CHECK

2. ACTIVE TEST

3. FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION




a. Headlight Leveling Control ECU

HINT: The Headlight Leveling Control ECU performs the fail-safe when detecting following troubles. At this it lights the warning Indicator light on the combination meter.

Recovery condition (The warning light goes off.)
- Ignition switch OFF
- Ignition switch OFF or signal lever error cancellation




b. Light Control ECU

4. USING LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER
a. Hook up the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3.
b. Monitor the ECU data by following the prompts on the tester screen.

HINT: LEXUS hand-held tester has a "Snapshot" function which records the monitored data.
Please refer to the LEXUS hand-held tester operator's manual for further details.

5. DTC CLEAR
a. The DTCs and freezed frame data will be erased by either action.
Opening the OBD II scan tool (complying with SAE J1978) or LEXUS hand-held tester to erase the codes. (See the OBD II scan tool's instruction book for operating instructions.)
