Dash Board Removal and Installation

REPLACEMENT




1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT

HINT: Indicate the bolts, screws and nuts, which are necessary for installation and removal of the instrument panel, in the illustration and the test with alphabets

2. SHIP MODE SETTING (W/ CD CHANGER)
Refer to Radio/Stereo; Service and Repair
3. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
4. INSPECT CENTER FRONT WHEEL
5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.2
6. REMOVE SWITCH & VOLUME CASE
7. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH MODULATOR
8. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY

9. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
SST 09950-50012 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05020)




10. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH
a. Disengage the 4 claws and 5 clips.
b. Remove the door scuff plate assembly RH then disconnect the connector.

11. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH




12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH
a. Disengage the 3 claws then remove the front door opening trim cover RH.

13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH




14. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1
a. Remove the 3 bolts and Instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly No.1 then disconnect the hood lock control cable and connectors.




15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the Instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly then disconnect the connector.

16. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER LWR
17. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER UPR
18. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY




19. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 screws and combination meter assembly then disconnect the connectors.




20. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH REAR
a. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the console upper panel garnish rear then disconnect the connectors.




21. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY UPPER
a. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 clips, 4 claws and remove the console panel sub-assembly upper then disconnect the connector.

HINT: Set the shift lever into N range and the receptacle door closed.




22. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER CONTROL ASSEMBLY
a. Disengage the 6 clips and remove the air conditioner control assembly then disconnect the connectors.

23. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER CENTER

24. SHIP MODE CONFIRMATION (W/ CD CHANGER)
Refer to Radio/Stereo; Service and Repair.




25. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY (W/O LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM)
a. Using a screwdriver, lever up the 4 claws on the body from inside of the registers.




b. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 clips then remove the instrument panel safety pad garnish sub-assembly.




26. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY (W/ LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM)
a. Using a screwdriver, lever up the 2 claws on the body from inside of the register.




b. Using a moulding remover, disengage the clip then remove the instrument panel safety pad garnish sub-assembly.




27. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.2 (W/ LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM)
a. Using a screwdriver, lever up the 2 claws on the body from inside of the register.




b. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 clips then remove the instrument panel garnish sub-assembly No.2.

28. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER (W/ LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM)




29. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.2
a. Disengage the 3 clips, 2 claws and remove the instrument panel under cover sub-assembly No.2 then disconnect the connectors.




30. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 bolts , 2 screws and glove compartment door assembly then disconnect the connectors.

31. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET




32. REMOVE BOX PANEL NO.3
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the box panel No.3.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




33. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 8 bolts , 4 screws .
b. Disengage the 2 clips then remove the console box assembly.




34. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.2
a. Remove the 2 bolts and tire pressure monitor receiver assembly.
b. Remove the nut , bolt and instrument panel brace sub-assembly No.2.




35. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1
a. Remove the 2 nuts , 2 bolts
and instrument panel brace sub-assembly No.1.




36. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
a. Disengage the claw and 2 clips, then remove the front pillar garnish RH.

37. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH




38. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH
a. Using a moulding remover, disengage 6 claws and remove the instrument side panel RH.




39. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Turn up the front floor
carpet.
b. Disconnect the connectors.
c. Remove the 3 caps, 9 bolts .
d. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly with instrument panel reinforcement assembly and steering column assembly.




40. REMOVE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the cooler (solar sensor) thermistor.

NOTE: Do not pry the cooler (solar sensor) thermistor off from the upper position.

41. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT NO.4
a. Remove the 3 clips and heater to register duct No.4.




42. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 nuts, 2 bolts and steering column ASSEMBLY.

43. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PLATE

44. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PIN NO.1
a. Remove 3 screws and 3 instrument panel pin No.1.

45. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE GARNISH NO.1
a. Disengage the 12 claws then remove the defroster nozzle garnish No.1.

46. REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT NO.1
a. Remove the 2 screws and side defroster nozzle duct No.1.

47. REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT NO.2
a. Remove the 3 screws and side defroster nozzle duct No.2.

48. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE FRONT
a. Remove the 4 screws and defroster nozzle front.

49. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT NO.1
a. Remove the clip, 2 screws and heater to register duct No.1.

50. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT NO.3
a. Remove the 2 screws and heater to register duct No.3.

51. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT NO.2
a. Remove the 3 screws and heater to register duct No.2.

52. SEPARATE PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR

53. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT
a. Disconnect the connectors.
b. Remove the 4 bolts , screw and instrument panel reinforcement with wire harness.

54. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY NO.1
a. Remove the 2 screws and instrument panel register assembly No.1.

55. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY NO.2
a. Remove the 2 screws and instrument panel register assembly No.2.

56. REMOVE GROVE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK STRIKER PLATE ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 screws and grove compartment door lock striker plate assembly.

57. REMOVE NAVIGATION ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (W/ LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM)

58. REMOVE CENTER JUNCTION BLOCK

59. REMOVE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU

60. REMOVE LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT

61. REMOVE METER
HOOD RETAINER NO.1
a. Remove the screw and meter hood retainer.

62. REMOVE INSTR PNL PASS L/DOOR AIR BAG ASSEMBLY

63. INSTALL INSTR PNL PASS L/DOOR AIR BAG ASSEMBLY

64. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT
a. Install the Instrument panel reinforcement, screw with 4 bolts .

Torque: Bolt : 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the connectors.

65. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
a. Install the steering column assembly, 2 bolts with 4 nuts.

Torque:
Bolt: 25 N.m (260 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)
Nut: 25 N.m (260 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)

66. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Install the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly with 9 bolts .

67. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.2
a. Install the instrument panel brace sub-assembly No.2, nut with bolt.

68. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1
a. Install the instrument panel brace sub-assembly No.1, 2 nuts with 2 bolts.
b. Install the tire pressure monitor receiver assembly with 2 bolts.

69. INSTALL
CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
a. Install the console box assembly, 8 bolts, 2 clips with 4 screws.

HINT: When the console panel sub-assembly upper is installed, set the shift lever into N range and close the receptacle door.

70. CENTER SPIRAL CABLE
71. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
72. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT
73. INSPECT HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
74. INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
75. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
