Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION, SEATBACK AND PACKAGE TRAY TRIM
3. REMOVE ABS SPEED SENSOR
Remove the bolt and ABS speed sensor.
NOTICE: When removing them from right side, do not disconnect the pad wear indicator connector.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.)
4. DISCONNECT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR LINK FROM NO. 2 LOWER SUSPENSION ARM
a. Place matchmarks on the link and bracket.
b. Remove the nut and disconnect the height control sensor link.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
5. REMOVE SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING
a. Loosen the nut on lower side of the shock absorber.
HINT: Do not remove the nut.
Torque: 70 Nm (720 kgf-cm, 52 ft. lbs.)
b. Support the rear axle carrier with a jack.
c. Remove the 3 nuts and shock absorber cap.
Torque: 25 Nm (260 kgf-cm, 18 ft. lbs.)
d. Loosen the suspension support center nut.
NOTICE: Do not remove the nut.
HINT: If not disassembling the shock absorber, it is not necessary to loosen the nut.
Torque: 27 Nm (280 kgf-cm, 20 ft. lbs.)
e. Remove the 3 nuts.
Torque: 64 Nm (650 kgf-cm, 47 ft. lbs.)
f. Lower the rear axle carrier and remove the nut on lower side of shock absorber.
g. Remove the shock absorber with coil spring.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
HINT: After installation, check the speed sensor signal, and rear wheel alignment.
