Disassembly and Assembly






DISASSEMBLY





1. REMOVE UPPER SUSPENSION ARM
a. Install a bolt and nut to the axle carrier and secure it in a vise.
b. Loosen the nut to the position shown in the illustration. Then tap the nut with a hammer and remove the upper suspension arm.
c. Release the axle carrier from the vise and remove the bolt and nut from the axle carrier.
2. REMOVE DUST DEFLECTOR
Using a screwdriver, remove the dust deflector.
3. REMOVE AXLE HUB FROM AXLE CARRIER





a. Remove the 4 bolts and remove the axle hub from axle carrier with backing plate.





b. Remove the 2 nuts and parking brake cable support bracket.
c. Remove the backing plate from the axle carrier.

REASSEMBLY
1. INSTALL BACKING PLATE
Install the backing plate to axle carrier and install the parking brake support bracket with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft. lbs.)
2. INSTALL AXLE HUB
Install the axle hub to axle carrier with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 65 Nm (663 kgf-cm, 48 ft. lbs.)





3. INSTALL NEW DUST DEFLECTOR
Using SST and a press, install a new dust deflector.
SST 09214-76011

HINT: Align the holes for the ABS speed sensor in the dust deflector and axle carrier.

4. INSTALL UPPER SUSPENSION ARM
a. Install a bolt and nut to the axle carrier and secure it in a vise.
b. Install the upper suspension arm to the axle carrier.
c. Install a new nut.
Torque: 70 Nm (720 kgf-cm, 52 ft. lbs.)
d. Release the axle carrier from the vise and remove the bolt and nut from the axle carrier.
