Removal and Replacement

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING
2. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF FRONT GARNISH




3. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GLASS ASSEMBLY
a. Pull up the covers.




b. Remove the 2 screws.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

c. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
d. Pull the glass assembly upward to remove it.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the glass assembly.

4. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISHES
Remove the sliding roof side garnishes from the sliding roof glass assembly.




5. REMOVE DRIVE GEAR

NOTE: Remove the drive gear with the sliding roof fully closed.

a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and drive gear.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

NOTE: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item.
If the sliding roof position and drive gear fully closed position are not matched, the sliding roof does not operate normally.




6. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF BRACKET
Remove the 10 bolts, 2 nuts and 6 sliding roof bracket.

Torque:
Bolt: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)
Nut: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)


7. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING
a. Disconnect the 4 drain hoses from the housing.
b. Disengage the wire harness clamps.




c. Remove the 4 nuts, then remove the housing as shown in the illustration.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the body and curtain shield air-bag assembly.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

HINT: After installing the sliding roof, sliding roof need to be re-initialized.
