Displaying & Reading Trouble Codes

PRE-CHECK

Standard:




1. POWER WINDOW OPERATION MODE

2. POWER WINDOW FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

Standard:




a. When an abnormality is detected in the limit switch and pulse sensor for operating the jam protection function (DTC: B1231, B1232, B1233, B1234), the following power window operations will be prohibited for fail-safe.

3. USING HAND-HELD TESTER
a. Hook up the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
b. Monitor the ECU data by following the prompts on the tester screen.

HINT: Hand-held tester has a "Snapshot" function which records the monitored data.
Please refer to the hand-held tester operator's manual for further details.

4. DTC CLEAR
a. The DTC and frozen frame data will be erased by either action.
Operate the OBD II scan tool (complying with SAE J1978) or hand-held tester to erase the codes. (See the OBD II scan tool's instruction book for operating instructions.)

5. DATA LIST

HINT: According to the DATA LIST displayed by the OBD II scan tool or hand-held tester, you can read the value of the switch, sensor, actuator and so on without parts removal. Reading the DATA LIST as a first step of troubleshooting is one of the method to shorten the labor time.













a. Connect the OBD II scan tool or hand-held tester to the DLC3.
b. Turn the ignition switch ON.
c. According to the display on tester, read the "DATA LIST".

6. ACTIVE TEST







a. Connect the OBD II scan tool or hand-held tester to the DLC3.
b. Turn the ignition switch ON.
c. According to the display on tester, perform the "ACTIVE TEST".
