FRONT COIL SPRING CREAKING NOISE
A creaking noise may occur in the front suspension due to rubbing between the front coil spring upper insulator and the urethane tube covering the top coil of the spring. To eliminate this noise, a new coil spring upper insulator has been adopted that no longer requires the urethane tube.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES: 2002 model year ES300 produced before the VIN shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the front coil spring from the strut assembly following the Repair Manual procedures.
2. Remove and discard the urethane tube from the top of the coil spring, the tube should peel off easily.
3. Install the new front coil spring insulator.
