Seat Belt Pretensioner Activation When Scrapping Vehicle

DISPOSE OF FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSY RH (WHEN INSTALLED WITH VEHICLE)
a. SRS airbag system.
b. Remove the front door scuff plate RH.
c. Remove the rear door scuff plate RH.
d. Remove the front door opening trim weather strip RH.
e. Remove the rear door opening trim weather strip RH.
f. Remove the center pillar garnish lower RH.
g. Remove the center pillar garnish upper RH.

h. Dispose of the pretensioner.




1. Using a screwdriver, pull the locking button of the pretensioner connector to your side to release the lock.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

2. Separate the pretensioner connector.

NOTE:
- Check that the outer belt is securely, installed.
- Check that the seat belt is not loose.




3. Short the clip and terminal of the SST.
SST 09082-00700, 09082-00770

4. Connect the SST with the pretensioner.

NOTE: Close all the doors and windows.

HINT: When connecting the SST with the pretensioner, the locking button of the pretensioner connector should be in the locking condition.




5. Fully stretch the SST and put a battery at least 10 m (33 ft) or more apart from the vehicle.
6. Check the security inside and outside the vehicle, and then connect the clip of SST with the battery negative.

7. Connecting the terminal of SST with the battery positive, activate the pretensioner.

CAUTION:
- Be sure that no one is present inside the vehicle and also near the vehicle before it is activated.
- Be sure to warn the people around the working place loudly before it is activated.
