MOON ROOF INITIALIZATION

Introduction

This bulletin outlines the initialization procedure for the moon roof on the 2002 model year ES 300.

If the battery has been disconnected, the sliding roof ECU will not be able to detect and memorize the moon roof position, resulting in the following features being inoperative:

^ One-touch tilt up and down with jam protection.

^ One-touch slide open and close with jam protection.

Please use the following initialization procedure whenever the battery has been disconnected.

Applicable Vehicles
^ 2002 model year ES 300 vehicles.

Initialization Procedure





1. Push and hold down the "TILT UP" side of the switch until the moon roof tilts all the way up and then tilts down slightly (approx. 10 mm at the rear).

2. Check for proper operation of the "One-touch slide open/close" and "One-touch tilt up/down" functions by pushing the switch briefly to the "SLIDE OPEN" and "TILT UP" position.

NOTE:
Jam protection function becomes effective through initialization procedures 1 and 2.
