Introduction

The following repair procedures have been developed to help reduce potential squeak and rattle noises from the interior of the vehicle.

This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.





Squeak and Rattle Locations

Repair Procedure





1. To help eliminate an itchy type noise from the rear door panel area, apply silicon spray (00289-1SS00 or equivalent) between the door trim and the division bar as shown.

NOTE:
Assure lubricant does not spray onto door trim. Wipe off the silicon lubricant when lubricant is sprayed onto the door trim.





2. To help eliminate a glove box squeak when opening, apply a felt spacer to the glove box door as shown. Install felt directly where glove box light switch contacts the glove box door.

3. To help reduce the possibility of a creaking type noise when the luggage compartment door is closed, the following procedure has been developed.





Apply silicon spray or equivalent to the portions of the luggage compartment door pivot shown. Repeat for opposite side.
