SQUEAK AND RATTLE NOISE TIPS - INSTRUMENT PANEL METER CLUSTER

The following repair procedures have been developed to help eliminate potential squeak and rattle noises from the instrument panel cluster area. A production change was implemented.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES: 2001 model year LS430 vehicles.

REPAIR PROCEDURES:

1. To eliminate a rattle noise caused by movement of the instrument panel meter cluster, felt must be added as shown in the following illustration.

Remove the instrument panel meter cluster. Refer to the Lexus LS 430 Repair Manual Volume 2, for details.







Add felt as indicated:
Length: 50 mm
Width 10 mm
Thickness 0.5 mm


2. Re-assembly is the reverse order of disassembly.
