Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair






REMOVAL
1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER
2. MOVE ASIDE ENGINE ROOM NO. 3 R/B
Remove the 2 bolts and bracket, move aside the engine room No. 3 R/B.
3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER
Remove the front fender outside molding, front fender splash shield and front fender liner LH.





4. DISCONNECT BRAKE LINE
Using SST, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the brake actuator.
SST 09751-36011
Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.)





5. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
a) Disconnect the 2 connectors and brake hose from the brake actuator.
b) Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and brake actuator assembly.
Torque: 19 Nm (195 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.)
6. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR
a) Remove the 2 nuts and actuator from the actuator bracket.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
b) Remove the 2 holders and 3 cushions from the brake actuator.

INSTALLATION
Installation is to be done in the reverse order of removal.

HINT:
^ After installation, fill the brake reservoir with brake fluid and bleed the brake system.
^ Check for fluid leakage.
