IMPROVEMENTS TO OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR

Improvements have been made to the outside rear view mirror glass. The bonding process, when the EC terminal for the heater is attached, has been improved.
A field fix is available for outside rear view mirrors that have thermal stress cracks brought about by the mirror heater element.







NOTE:
Do not replace the entire assembly, replacement of outside mirror glass is required for pre-countermeasure parts.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES: 2001 model year LS430 & RX300 vehicles.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Remove and replace the outside rear view mirror assembly of affected vehicles using the proper procedures in the body section of the corresponding Repair Manual.

The new part can be identified by the packing date on the part number label as shown below.







The packing dates of the modified process parts for the outer mirror assemblies are March 1, 2001.
