Subject:
TRUNK CLOSER MISOPERATION
Some owners of 2001 model year LS430 vehicles may complain of problems with the power trunk closer system. These complaints can come about when any of the three release methods are used: Dash Button, Key Cylinder or Wireless Transmitter.
Complaints may include:
- Trunk re-closing itself after release.
- Excessive force required to open the trunk fully after release.
- After opening, the trunk is unable to be re-closed until the trunk is released again.
To correct this condition, the following improvements have been made to the hop-up lever of the Luggage Door Striker:
- Rubber height has been decreased.
- Rubber hardness has been increased.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES: 2001 model year LS430 vehicles built prior to the VIN below.
