Preparation Procedure

1. Remove all compact discs loaded into the audio head unit CD changer.

NOTE:
Before the Pioneer audio head unit CD changer can be put into "shipping mode," all discs must be removed. It discs cannot be removed, do not attempt to put unit into "shipping mode" as discs may be damaged. If any discs will not unload, simply remove the unit and ship it as is with the discs loaded.

2. Once all discs have been removed from the CD changer, set the audio head unit CD changer to "shipping mode."

A. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

B. Turn the ignition switch to the accessory (ACC) position while simultaneously pressing the "SEEK UP" (or "TUNE UP") and "DISC" buttons. (Figure 1.)

NOTE:
While setting "shipping mode," the CD loading door indicator light flashes. When "shipping mode" is set, the indicator light will stay on and the audio unit will display "SHIP" (See Figure 2.)

3. After "shipping mode" is set, remove the audio head unit CD changer from the vehicle.

NOTE:
For details on removing the audio head unit CD changer please see the Repair Manual.

There is a "SHIP" mark on the back of the audio head unit CD changer, as shown in Figure 2. To confirm that the audio head unit CD changer is in "shipping mode" once it is removed from the vehicle, check to see that the hole directly below the "SHIP" mark has turned red.

4. The "shipping mode" is automatically reset by connecting the audio connector to the audio head unit CD changer.

NOTE:
If the audio head unit CD changer is put in "shipping mode" but not removed from the vehicle, or the audio connector is not disconnected, "shipping mode" can be reset by pressing the "LOAD" button once.
