Fuel Pump Relay: Testing and Inspection
FUEL PUMP RELAYINSPECTION
1. REMOVE RELAY BOX COVER
2. REMOVE FUEL PUMP RELAY (Marking: FUEL PUMP)
3. INSPECT FUEL PUMP RELAY CONTINUITY
a. Using an ohmmeter, check that continuity exists between terminals 1 and 2.
If no continuity exists, replace the relay.
b. Check that there is continuity between terminals 3 and 4.
If no continuity exists, replace the relay.
4. INSPECT FUEL PUMP RELAY OPERATION
a. Apply battery voltage across terminals 1 and 2.
b. Using an ohmmeter, check that no continuity exists between terminals 3 and 4.
If continuity exists, replace the relay.
5. REINSTALL FUEL PUMP RELAY
