REPAIR PROCEDURE:
Flash Reprogram ECM:
Flash reprogram the Engine ECM (using calibration ID number 35301200) to improve throttle response under the following conditions.
- From a stop (starting out), sudden accelerator pedal application to approximately 25 to 40% opening.
- From coasting at 24 to 40 KMH or at a steady cruise of 24 to 40 KMH, 50 to 70% accelerator pedal application (to cause a 5-2 downshift).
Follow procedures outlined in TSB No. 0435, ECU Flash Reprogramming Process, and flash reprogram the engine ECM with calibration file update 35301200.
After flash reprogramming the ECM, enter the required information on the Authorized Modifications Label and affix it to the vehicle at the location shown.
Replace TRAC ECU:
Replace the TRAC ECU to improve throttle response under the following conditions.
- From a stop (starting out), sudden accelerator pedal application at or near Wide Open Throttle (WOT).
- From low speed, at or near WOT accelerator pedal application while turning.
Remove lower finish panel and related HVAC duct work (below steering column) and access the TRAC ECU.
