The following information outlines single and two-tone paint schemes used on 2001 model year Lexus vehicles.
Painting Method
Lexus vehicles are painted using either a single color over the entire vehicle, or two-tone where the cladding and bumpers are a different color than the body of the car.
Refinish Precautions
To avoid heat deformation of the cladding, observe the following precautions during the retinish/drying process:
1. To prevent cladding warpage, hold the cladding panels firmly in place and keep the drying temperature below 50°C (122°F).
2. Since the cladding and bumpers are made of flexible plastic material, use a two-part urethane retinish paint system with plasticizer for all bumper/cladding repairs as required by your paint manufacturer.
