Quarter Window Glass: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. REMOVE FRONT SCUFF PLATE
Using a screwdriver, remove the plate.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
2. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP
Using a screwdriver, remove the assist grip.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
3. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH
4. REMOVE REAR SEAT
5. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM
a. Remove the clip.
b. Using a screwdriver, remove the front seat outer belt guide.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
c. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.
d. Pass a screwdriver between the body and quarter trim to pry it loose.
e. Remove the quarter trim.
6. REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER BELT GUIDE
Remove the guide as shown in the illustration.
7. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 caps.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the 2 screws and assist grip.
c. Using a screwdriver, open the seat belt shoulder anchor cover.
d. Remove the bolt and front seat outer belt shoulder anchor.
e. Remove the 4 screws.
f. Pass a screwdriver between the body and inner garnish to pry it loose.
g. Remove the inner garnish.
8. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW GLASS WITH MOULDING
a. Remove the 4 nuts.
b. Push the piano wire through from the interior.
c. Cut loose the adhesive and remove the glass.
NOTE: Do not damage the body.
INSTALLATION
1. CLEAN AND SHAPE CONTACT SURFACE OF BODY
a. Using a knife, cut away any rough areas on the body.
HINT: Leave as much of the adhesive on the body as possible.
b. Clean the cutting surface of the adhesive with a piece of shop rag saturated in cleaner.
HINT: Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the body.
2. CLEAN REMOVED GLASS
a. Using a scraper, remove the adhesive sticking to the glass.
b. Clean the glass with cleaner.
NOTE: Do not touch the glass after cleaning it.
3. COAT CONTACT SURFACE OF BODY WITH PRIMER "M"
Using a brush, coat the contact surface on the body with Primer M.
NOTE:
- Let the primer coating dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Do not coat Primer M to the adhesive.
- Do not keep any of the opened Primer M for later use.
4. COAT CONTACT SURFACE OF GLASS WITH PRIMER "G"
a. Using a brush or sponge, coat the edge of the glass and the contact surface with Primer G.
b. When the primer is coated wrongly to the area other than the specified, wipe off with a clean shop rag before the primer dries.
NOTE:
- Let the primer coating dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Do not keep any of the opened Primer G for later use.
5. APPLY ADHESIVE
a. Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle.
Part No. 08850-00801 or equivalent
HINT: After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time described in the table.
b. Load the cartridge into the sealer gun.
c. Coat the glass with adhesive as shown.
Adhesive height: 10 mm (0.39 in.)
6. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW GLASS WITH MOULDING
a. Install the glass to the body.
b. Hold the glass in place securely with a protective tape or equivalent until the adhesive hardens.
NOTE: Take care not to drive the vehicle during the time described in the table.
7. INSPECT FOR LEAK AND REPAIR
a. Conduct a leak test after the hardening time has elapsed.
b. Seal any leak with sealant.

8. INSTALL ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH
9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT SHOULDER ANCHOR
Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
10. INSTALL REAR ASSIST GRIP
11. INSTALL REAR SEAT OUTER BELT GUIDE
12. INSTALL QUARTER TRIM
13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT GUIDE
14. INSTALL REAR SEAT
15. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH
16. INSTALL FRONT ASSIST GRIP
17. INSTALL SCUFF PLATE
