Seat Belt Systems

Repairs and Inspections Required After A Collision

Seat Belt Systems

CAUTION: Replace the seat belt assembly (outer belt, inner belt, bolts, nuts or sill-bar) if it has been used in a severe impact. The entire assembly should be replaced even if damage is not obvious.

1. Inspect Seat Belt Pretensioner Activation. Replace the seat belt if the seat belt cannot be drawn out or does not retract.
2. Inspect Seat Belt Pretensioner Mount. Remove the seat belt pretensioner, following all precautions, and check for deformation of the mount. If you find any deformation, repair mount.
