Seat Temperature Switch: Testing and Inspection








INSPECT SEAT HEATER SWITCH CONTINUITY
If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch or bulb.





INSPECT SEAT HEATER SWITCH INDICATOR
A. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 7 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 8.
B. Push the switch, check that the indicator light lights up.

If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.





INSPECT SEAT HEATER SWITCH CIRCUIT
Disconnect the switch connector and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.





If the circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.








INSPECT IGNITION MAIN RELAY CONTINUITY
If continuity is not as specified, replace the relay.








INSPECT IGNITION MAIN RELAY CIRCUIT
Remove the relay and inspect the connector on the junction block side, as shown.

If the circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.





INSPECT SEAT CUSHION CONTINUITY

HINT: For the following inspection, keep temperature around thermostat below 30 °C (86 °F).

A. Check that there is continuity between terminal 1 and 3.
B. Check that there is continuity between terminal 1 and 2.





C. Heat thermostat B with a light. Check there is no continuity above 45 °C (113 °F) between terminal 1 and 2.





D. Heat thermostat A with a light. Check there is no continuity above 55 °C (131 °F) between terminal 1 and 3.
E. Cool 2 thermostat below 25 °C (77 °F). Check that there is continuity between terminal 1 and 3, 1 and 2.

If continuity is not as specified, replace the seat cushion.








INSPECT SEAT BACK CONTINUITY
Inspect the seat heater continuity between terminals, as shown.

If continuity is not as specified, replace the seat back pad.
