REPAIR PROCEDURE:

For vehicles with Pioneer radios after the VIN break, the following "ASL Disable/Enable" procedure can be used to disable the ASL feature:

A. Verify the radio is on before turning the ignition key to the "OFF" position.
B. On the radio faceplate, push and hold preset number "2" and preset number "5" at the same time.
C. Turn the ignition key to the "ACC" position while continuing to hold presets "2" and "5". ("ASL ON" will appear on the display.)
D. Release presets "2" and "5".
E. Press the "CD" button to toggle between ASL "ON" and ASL "OFF". When the display reads "ASL ON", the ASL function is enabled. When the display reads "ASL OFF", the ASL function is disabled.
F. Turn Ignition key to the "OFF" position once the appropriate setting has been registered to exit the ASL toggle mode.

Radios which have the capability to disable the ASL feature can be recognized by the marking shown on the label on the bottom of the head unit:

NOTE:
If the battery is removed or the radio is disconnected, the radio will return to the default ASL setting which is "ON". For customers who have requested ASL to be disabled, service technicians will need to remember to perform the ASL disable/enable" procedure outlined above anytime the battery is disconnected or the radio is replaced.
