ABS Diagnosis System

NOTE: Before replacing or removing the part, turn the ignition switch OFF.

HINT:
- Using SST 09843 - 18020, connect the terminals Tc and E1, and remove the short pin.
- If any abnormality is not found when inspecting parts, inspect the ECU.
- If a malfunction code is displayed during the DTC check, check the circuit listed for that code. For details of each code, refer to the respective "DTC No." under "Trouble Code Diagnostic Procedures".

*1,*2: These DTC will not affect to cancel the ABS warning light by repairing the trouble area, so perform the following operations.

* *1:
1. Drive the vehicle at 20 kph (12 mph) for 30 seconds or more and check that the ABS warning light goes off.
2. Clear the DTC.

* *2:
1. keep the vehicle in the stationary condition for 5 seconds or more and depress the brake pedal lightly 2 or 3 times.
2. Driving the vehicle at the vehicle speed 50 kph (31 mph) and keep depressing the brake pedal strongly for about 3 seconds.
3. Repeat the above operation 3 times or more and check that the ABS warning light goes off.
4. Clear the DTC.

HINT: There is a case that LEXUS hand-held tester cannot be used when ABS warning light is always on.
