Evaporator Core: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
HINT: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item.
Evacuate air from refrigeration system.
Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.
Specified amount: 950 ± 50 g (33.51 ± 1.76 oz.)
2. REMOVE ABS ACTUATOR
3. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE AND SUCTION TUBE
Remove 2 bolts and both tubes.
Torque: 10 Nm (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture dust out of the system.
HINT: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item.
Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the tubes.
4. DISCONNECT EQUALIZER TUBE FROM EPR
Remove the bolt and disconnect the tube.
Torque: 23 Nm (235 kgf.cm, 17 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture dirt out of the system.
HINT: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item.
Lubricate a new O-ring with compressor oil and install them to the tube.
5. REMOVE UNDER COVER GLOVE BOX AND SIDE AIR DUCT
6. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU COOLING FAN ECU AND TRC ECU
7. PULL FLOOR CARPET DOWN AND REMOVE COMPUTER COVER
8. REMOVE EVAPORATOR
a. Remove the foot air duct.
b. Remove 4 screws and down the lower case.
c. Remove 5 screws and evaporator.
d. Pull out the evaporator.
HINT: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item.
If evaporator is replaced, add compressor oil to compressor.
Add 40 cc (1.4 fl.oz.)
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
