Removal and Installation
COMPONENTS
REMOVAL
1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERANT SYSTEM
HINT: At the time of installation please refer to the following item.
Evacuate air from refrigeration system.
Charge system with the refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.
Specified amount: 950 ± 50 g (33.51 ± 1.76)
2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT FROM RADIATOR
HINT: It is not necessary to drain out all coolant.
3. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
a. Brake tubes mounting bolts
b. Water valve
c. ABS actuator
4. DISCONNECT LIQUID AND SUCTION TUBES
Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the both tubes.
Torque: 10 Nm (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.
HINT: At the time of installation please refer to the following item.
Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the tubes.
5. DISCONNECT EQUALIZER TUBE FROM EPR
Remove the bolt and disconnect the tube.
Torque: 23 Nm (235 kgf.cm, 17 fl.lbf)
NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.
HINT: At the time of installation please refer to the following item.
Lubricate a new O-ring with compressor oil and install them to the tube.
6. REMOVE WATER HOSE FROM HEATER RADIATOR
7. REMOVE INSULATOR RETAINER
Remove the 2 bolts and the retainer.
8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND REINFORCEMENT
9. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
a. PPS ECU
b. Cooling Fan ECU
c. ABS ECU
10. SLIDE FLOOR CARPET BACKWARD
11. REMOVE REAR AIR DUCTS
Remove the nut and the air ducts.
12. REMOVE HEATER TO RESISTER NO.3 DUCT
Remove the screw and the duct.
13. REMOVE CONNECTOR BRACKET FROM UNDER SIDE OF BLOWER MOTOR
Remove the 2 screws and the bracket.
14. REMOVE A/C UNIT
a. Disconnect the connectors from the unit.
b. Remove the 6 bolts and the A/C unit.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
