Removal and Installation
COMPONENTS
REMOVAL
1. RUN ENGINE AT IDLE SPEED WITH A/C ON FOR APPROX. 10 MINUTES
2. STOP THE ENGINE
3. DISCONNECT NEGATIVE (-) TERMINAL CABLE FROM BATTERY
4. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
5. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE AND SUCTION HOSE FROM COMPRESSOR
NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.
6. DISCONNECT CONNECTOR FROM MAGNETIC CLUTCH
7. REMOVE DRIVE BELT
8. REMOVE COMPRESSOR
a. Remove engine under cover.
b. Remove harness from the clamp.
c. Remove the earth wire harness set bolt.
d. Remove the nut and the 3 bolts.
e. Remove the bracket and the compressor.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL COMPRESSOR
a. Install the compressor with the bracket, nut and the 3 bolts.
Torque:
Bolts: 49 Nm (500 kgf.cm, 36 ft.lbf)
Nut: 29 Nm (300 kgf.cm, 22 ft.lbf)
b. Install the earth wire harness with the bolt.(c) Install the wire harness to the clamp.
2. INSTALL DRIVE BELT
3. CONNECT CONNECTOR TO MAGNETIC CLUTCH
5. CONNECT DISCHARGE AND SUCTION HOSES
Connect the both hoses with 2 nuts.
Torque: 25 Nm (250 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Hose should be connected immediately after the caps have been removed.
HINT: Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the hose.
5. CONNECT NEGATIVE (-) TERMINAL CABLE TO BATTERY
6. EVACUATE AIR FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM AND CHARGE WITH REFRIGERANT
Specified amount: 950 ± 50 g (33.51 ± 1.76 oz.)
8. INSPECT FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT
Using a gas leak detector, check for leakage of refrigerant.
If there is leakage, check the tightening torque at the joints.
