Seat Belt Buckle Switch: Testing and Inspection
INSPECT BUCKLE SWITCH CONTINUITYa. Check that there is continuity between terminal 1 and 4 on the switch side connector with the switch ON (belt fastened).
b. Check that there is no continuity between terminal 1 and 4 on the switch side connector with the switch OFF (belt unfastened).
If operation is not as specified, replace the seat belt inner.
INSPECT BUCKLE SWITCH CIRCUIT
Disconnect the connector from the switch and inspect the connector on wire harness side, as shown.
If the circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.
INSPECT BUCKLE SWITCH INDICATOR LIGHT OPERATION
Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6, and check that the indicator light does not light up, replace the switch.
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This circuit detects the conditions of the passenger buckle switch and the seat belt warning occupant detection sensor and makes the passenger seat belt warning flash.
