Lower
REMOVAL
1. Remove rear wheel.
Torque: 103 Nm (76 ft. lbs.).
2. Remove brake caliper.
a. Remove the two bolts and brake caliper from the axle hub.
Torque: 104 Nm (77 ft. lbs.).
b. Support the brake caliper securely.
3. Disconnect center exhaust pipe with tailpipe removal.
HINT: Support the exhaust pipe securely.
4. Remove strut rod.
Remove the two bolts, nuts, washer and strut rod from the rear axle carrier.
Torque: 184 Nm (136 ft. lbs.).
HINT: At the time of installation, after stabilizing the suspension, torque the bolts.
5. Disconnect parking brake cable.
Remove the bolt and parking brake cable clamp.
Torque: 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).
6. Remove No. 1 lower suspension arm.
a. Remove the nut.
Torque: 59 Nm (43 ft. lbs.).

b. Using Special Service Tool (SST) 09628-10011 or equivalent, disconnect the lower suspension arm from the axle carrier.
NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the dust boot.
c. Place matchmarks on the adjusting cam and body.
d. Remove the nut, washer, No. 2 adjusting cam and plate.
Torque: 184 Nm (134 ft. lbs.).
HINT: At the time of installation, after stabilizing the suspension, torque the nuts.
e. Remove the lower suspension arm.
7. Remove No. 2 lower suspension arm.
a. Remove the nut, washer and bolt, disconnect the shock absorber.
Torque: 137 Nm (101 ft. lbs.).
HINT: At the time of installation, after stabilizing the suspension, torque the nuts.
b. Remove the nut and disconnect the stabilizer bar link from the No. 2 lower suspension arm.
Torque: 74 Nm (54 ft. lbs.).
c. Remove the nut.
Torque: 150 Nm (110 ft. lbs.).
d. Using SST 09610-20012 or equivalent, disconnect the No. 2 lower suspension arm from the axle carrier.
NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the dust cover.
e. Place matchmarks on the adjusting cam and body.
f. Remove nut, washer, No. 2 adjusting cam, plate and No. 2 lower suspension arm.
Torque: 184 Nm (136 ft. lbs.).
HINT: At the time of installation, after stabilizing the suspension, torque the nuts.
INSPECTION
1. Inspect lower suspension arm ball joint for rotation condition.
a. As shown, flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times, before installing the nut.
b. Using a torque wrench, turn the nut continuously one turn each 2 - 4 seconds and take the torque reading on the 5th turn.
Turning torque:
No. 1 lower suspension arm: 1.0 - 3.4 Nm (9 - 30 inch lbs.).
No. 2 lower suspension arm: 1.0 - 3.4 Nm (9 - 30 inch lbs.).
REPLACEMENT
Replace bushing.
Using SST 09710-30021 (09710-03111, 09710-03121), replace the strut rod bushing.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal. After installation, check the rear wheel alignment.
