Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Testing and Inspection

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

Fluid Pressure Inspection Of Proportioning And By-Pass Valve (P & B Valve):

1. Install Load Sensing Proportioning Valve (LSPV) gauge Special Service Tool (SST) 09709-29018 or equivalent, and bleed air.
2. Raise master cylinder pressure and check rear brake caliper pressure.
Master cylinder pressure:
1,961 kPa (284 psi)
7,845 kPa (1,138 psi)
Rear brake caliper pressure:
1,961 kPa (284 psi)
5,492 kPa (796 psi)
If the rear brake caliper pressure is incorrect, replace the master cylinder.
3. Bleed brake system.
4. Check for fluid leakage.
