Removal and Installation
Master Cylinder:
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect level warning switch connector.
2. Draw out fluid with syringe.
NOTICE: Do not let brake fluid remain on a painted surface. Wash it off immediately.
3. Disconnect brake lines.
Using Special Service Tool (SST) 09751-36011 or equivalent, disconnect the 2 brake lines from the master cylinder.
Torque: 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)
4. Remove master cylinder.
a. Remove the 2 nuts and clamp.
Torque: 13 Nm (9 ft. lbs.)
b. w/o TRAC: Pull out the master cylinder and gasket from the brake booster.
c. w/ TRAC: Disconnect the 2 brake hoses, and pull out the master cylinder and gasket from the brake booster.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
1. Before installation, adjust length of brake booster push rod.
2. After installation, fill brake reservoir with brake fluid, bleed brake system, check for leaks.
3. Check and adjust brake pedal.
