Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1. Remove engine under cover.
Remove the 9 bolts and 6 screws and 2 clips.
2. Remove RH rear engine under cover.
Remove the 3 bolts.
3. Remove air cleaner inlet and battery clamp cover.
Remove the bolt.
4. Remove air cleaner assembly with air cleaner hose.
a. Disconnect the MAF meter connector.
b. Remove the clamps.
c. remove the 3 bolts.
5. Remove brake actuator assembly.
6. Remove drive belt.
Loosen the drive belt tension by turning the drive belt tensioner counterclockwise, and remove the drive belt.
7. Disconnect 2 vacuum hoses.
Remove the 2 clips.
8. Disconnect return hose.
Remove the clip and disconnect the hose.
9. Remove pressure feed tube.
Remove the union bolt and gasket.
10. Remove PS vane pump assembly.
Remove the 2 bolts and nut.
INSTALLATION
1. Install PS vane pump assembly.
Torque the 2 bolts and nut on the vane pump assembly.
Torque:
- Bolt 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.)
- Nut 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.)
2. Install pressure feed tube.
Torque the union bolt over a new gasket to 49 Nm (36 ft. lbs.).
HINT: Make sure the stopper of the pressure feed tube is touching the PS vane pump body as shown, then torque the bolt.
3. Connect return hose.
Connect the hose with the clip.
4. Connect 2 vacuum hoses.
Install the 2 clips.
5. Install drive belt.
Loosen the drive belt tension by turning the drive belt tensioner counterclockwise, and install the belt.
6. Install brake actuator assembly.
7. Install air cleaner assembly with air cleaner hose.
a. Tighten the 3 bolts.
b. Install the clamp.
c. Connect the MAF meter connector.
8. Install air cleaner inlet and battery clamp cover and tighten the bolt.
9. Install RH rear engine under cover. Tighten the 3 bolts.
10. Install engine under cover.
Tighten the 9 bolts, 6 screws and 2 clips.
12. Bleed power steering system.
