Removal and Installation






REMOVAL
1. Disconnect level warning switch connector.
2. Draw out fluid with syringe.

NOTICE: Do not let brake fluid remain on a painted surface. Wash it off immediately.





3. Disconnect brake lines.
a. Using Special Service Tool (SST) 09023-00100 or equivalent, disconnect the 2 brake lines from the master cylinder.
Torque: 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)
b. Disconnect the brake hose from the reservoir.





4. Remove master cylinder.
a. Remove the 2 nuts.
Torque: 13 Nm (9 ft. lbs.)
b. Pull out the master cylinder and gasket from the brake booster.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
1. Before installation, adjust length of brake booster push rod.
2. After installation, fill brake fluid and bleed brake system. Check for fluid leakage.
3. Check and adjust brake pedal.
