Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair









REMOVAL
1. Remove air cleaner assembly and all cleaner inlet.
a. Remove the battery clamp cover, bolt and air cleaner inlet.
b. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) meter connector.
c. Remove the 3 bolts and loosen the hose clamp, pull out the air cleaner assembly with the cleaner hose.





2. Disconnect brake line.
a. Using Special Service Tool (SST) 09023-00100 or equivalent, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the brake actuator.
Torque: 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)





3. Remove brake actuator assembly.
a. Disconnect the 2 connectors from the brake actuator.
b. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and brake actuator assembly.
Torque: 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.)
4. Remove brake actuator.
a. Remove the 2 nuts and actuator from the actuator bracket.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (48 inch lbs.)
b. Remove the 2 cushion bolts and 3 cushions from the brake actuator.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
1. After installation, fill brake reservoir with brake fluid and bleed brake system.
2. Check for fluid leakage.
