Removal

First Of Three:

1. Place the front wheels facing straight ahead.
2. Remove the steering wheel pad.
3. Remove the steering wheel.
4. Disconnect the right and left hand tie rod ends.
5. Disconnect the intermediate shaft assembly.
6. Disconnect the clamp plate after removing the nut.





7. Using the 09631-22020 SST, disconnect the pressure feed and return tubes.
8. Disconnect the stabilizer bar after removing the four bolts.

NOTE: Do not remove the bar.

9. Remove the No.1 fuel tube protector after first removing the two bolts and nut.
10. Remove the power steering gear assembly by following these procedures.
a. Remove the two gear assembly set bolts and nuts.

NOTE: Lift up the stabilizer bar and remove the bolts.

b. Remove the gear assembly from the left hand side of the vehicle.

NOTE: Do not damage the turn pressure tubes.
