Removal and Installation





REMOVAL
1. Remove front and center exhaust pipe.
2. Remove propeller shaft.
3. Drain differential oil.





4. Disconnect rear drive shafts.

REMOVAL NOTE: Support the drive shafts securely.

5. Remove differential, as follows:
a. Support the differential with a jack.





b. Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, remove the three bolts.
Torque: 142 Nm (105 ft. lbs.).





c. Remove the two bolts and lower mount stoppers.
Torque: 147 Nm (108 ft. lbs.).
d. Remove the differential.
e. Remove the two upper mount stoppers from the differential carrier.





NOTE:
- Some vehicles have the adjusting shim for adjusting the propeller shaft joint angle installed on top of the upper mount stopper.
- The Adjusting shim is used only when necessary.

INSTALLATION NOTE: Use the upper mount stopper and adjusting shim which was removed.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: After installation, fill the differential with differential oil.
