Removal and Installation

REMOVAL





1. Remove drive belt. Loosen the drive belt tension by turning the drive belt tensioner clockwise, and remove the drive belt.
2. Disconnect return hose.

NOTICE: Take care not to spill fluid on the A/C compressor rotor.





3. Using a (24 mm) spanner to hold the pressure port union, remove the union bolt and the two gaskets.
4. Remove power steering vane pump assembly. Remove the two bolts.

INSTALLATION
1. Install power steering vane pump assembly. Torque the two bolts.
Torque:
28 mm bolt: 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.).
45 mm bolt: 58 Nm (43 ft. lbs.).
2. Connect pressure feed tube. Using a (24 mm) spanner to hold the pressure port union, torque the union bolt with a new gasket.





NOTE: Make sure the stopper of the tube is touching the pump housing, as shown, then torque the union bolt.

Torque: 49 Nm (36 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect return hose.





4. Install drive belt. Loosen the drive belt tension by turning the drive belt tensioner clockwise, and install the belt.
5. Bleed power steering system.
