Progressive Power Steering (PPS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU)






1. Jack up vehicle and support it on stands.
2. Start engine.
3. Measure the voltage of Electronic Control Unit (ECU), as follows:





a. Using a voltmeter, measure the voltage between ECU terminals SOL (-) and GND while the engine is idling.
Standard voltage: 0.33 - 0.43 V.





b. Place the transmission in gear and while running at about 37 mph (60 km/h.), measure the voltage between ECU terminals SOL (-) and GND.
Standard voltage: 0.09 - O.21 V.
If there is no voltage, try another ECU.
4. Lower vehicle.
