Expansion Valve: Service and Repair





EXPANSION VALVE REMOVAL
1. REMOVE EVAPORATOR

2. REMOVE EXPANSION VALVE
(a) Remove the packing.
(b) Remove the clamp and heat sensing tube from the suction tube.
(c) Loosen the 2 nuts and remove the expansion valve from the tubes.
Torque:
19 mm nut: 14 N.m (140 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)
24 mm nut: 22 N.m (225 kgf.cm, 16 ft.lbf)

INSTALLATION HINT: Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.

EXPANSION VALVE INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
