Evaporator Case: Service and Repair
A/C UNIT REMOVAL1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
INSTALLATION HINT: Evacuate air from refrigeration system.
Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.
Specified amount: 950 ± 50 g (33.51 ± 1.76 oz.)
2. REMOVE BRAKE TUBES MOUNTING BOLTS
3. REMOVE WATER VALVE
Service and Repair
4. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE AND SUCTION TUBE
Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the both tubes.
Torque: 10 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
REMOVAL NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.
INSTALLATION HINT: Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.
5. DISCONNECT EQUALIZER TUBE FROM EPR
Remove the bolt and disconnect the tube.
Torque: 10 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
REMOVAL NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.
INSTALLATION HINT: Lubricate a new O-ring with compressor oil and install the tube.
6. REMOVE WATER HOSE FROM HEATER RADIATOR
7. REMOVE INSULATOR RETAINER
Remove the 2 bolts and the retainer.
8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND REINFORCEMENT
9. SLIDE FLOOR CARPET BACKWARD
10. REMOVE REAR AIR DUCTS
Remove the nut and the air duct.
11. REMOVE HEATER TO RESISTER NO.3 DUCT
Remove the screw and the duct.
12. REMOVE CONNECTOR BRACKET FROM UNDER SIDE OF BLOWER MOTOR
Remove the 2 screws and the bracket.
13. REMOVE A/C UNIT
(a) Disconnect the connectors from the unit.
(b) Remove the 6 bolts and the A/C unit.
A/C UNIT INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
