Seat Temperature Element: Testing and Inspection

SEAT HEATER INSPECTION

1. INSPECT SEAT CUSHION CONTINUITY

HINT: For the following inspection, keep temperature around thermostat below 30° C (86° F).








(a) Check that there is continuity between terminal 1 and 3.
(b) Check that there is continuity between terminal 1 and 2.
(c) Heat thermostat B with a light. Check there is no continuity above 45° C (113° F) between terminal 1 and 2.





(d) Heat thermostat A with a light. Check there is no continuity above 55° C (131° F) between terminal 1 and 3.
(e) Cool 2 thermostat below 25° C (77° F). Check that there is continuity between terminal 1 and 3, 1 and 2.








2. INSPECT SEAT BACK CONTINUITY
Inspect the seat heater continuity between terminals, as shown.
If continuity is not as specified, replace the seat back pad.
