Upper Ball Joint

REMOVAL
1. Coil suspension, remove front shock absorber.
2. Air suspension, remove front pneumatic cylinder.
3. Remove upper suspension arm.
a. Remove the bolt and disconnect the ABS speed sensor wire harness from the upper suspension arm.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and the upper suspension arm.

Installation Hint: Torque to 113 Nm (83 ft. lbs.)





INSPECTION
Inspect ball joint for rotation condition.
1. Flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times before installing the nut.
2. Using a torque wrench, turn the nut continuously one turn every 2 - 4 seconds and take the torque reading on the 5th turn. Torque (turning): 1.0 - 3.4 Nm (9 - 30 inch lbs.)

INSTALLATION
^ Installation is in the reverse order of removal, being sure to check the ABS speed sensor signal and front wheel alignment.
