With Traction Control (TRAC) System
BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDING
CAUTION:
^ Do not let brake fluid remain on a painted surface. Wash it off immediately.
NOTE: If any work is done on the brake system or if air is suspected in the brake lines, bleed the system of air.
Fill Reservoir With Brake Fluid:
1. Fill brake reservoir with brake fluid. Use SAEJ17O3 or FMVSS No.116 DOT 3
2. Bleed master cylinder.
NOTE: If the master cylinder has been disassembled or if the reservoir becomes empty, bleed the air from the master cylinder.
(a) Disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder.
Bleeding Master Cylinder, Slowly Depress The Brake Pedal And Hold It.:
(b) Slowly depress the brake pedal and hold it.
Bleeding Master Cylinder, Block Off The Outer Holes With Your Fingers, And Release Brake Pedal.:
(c) Block off the outer holes with your fingers, and release the brake pedal.
(d) Repeat (b) and (c) 3 or 4 times.
3. Bleed brake line.
(a) Connect vinyl tube to brake caliper bleeder plug.
Insert other end of the tube in a half-full container of brake fluid.
(b) Depress the Brake Pedal several times, then loosen the bleeder plug with the pedal held down.
(c) At the point when fluid stops coming out, tighten the bleeder plug to 11 Nm (110 kg.cm, 8 ft. lbs) then release the brake pedal.
(d) Repeat (b) and (c) until all the air in the fluid has been bled out.
(e) Repeat the above procedure to bleed the air out of the brake line for each wheel.
4. Bleed Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) & Traction Control (TRAC) actuator.
(a) Remove the reservoir cap.
Bleeding ABS & TRAC Actuator:
(b) Install the Special Service Tool (SST) # 09992-00241, 09992-00350 to the reservoir.
(c) Connect the vinyl tube to the ABS & TRAC actuator, and loosen the bleeder plug.
(d) Using SST, apply pressure to the reservoir.
Bleeding The Air From The ABS & TRAC Actuator:
(e) Bleed the air out of the ABS & TRAC actuator, tighten the bleeder plug to 8.3 Nm (85 kg.cm, 74 inch lbs.)
5. Check fluid level in reservoir.
5. Check the fluid level and add fluid if necessary. Use SAE J1703 or FMVSS NO.116 DOT3
