1. Remove timing belt components shown in the illustrations.
Refer to Timing Components for additional information.
2. Remove No.2 idler pulley.
3. Remove No.2 ignition coil as follows:



(a) Disconnect the high-tension cord from the ignition coil.
(b) Disconnect the ignition coil connector.
(c) Remove the two bolts, stud bolt and ignition coil.

4. Remove water inlet and inlet housing assembly as follows:



(a) Remove the two bolts holding the water inlet housing water pump.
(b) Disconnect the water bypass hose (from the IAC valve) from the water inlet housing, and remove the water inlet and inlet housing assembly.
(c) Remove the O-ring from the water inlet housing.




5. Remove the five bolts, two stud bolts and nut from the water pump.




6. Using a screwdriver, remove the water pump by prying the portions between the water pump and cylinder block.
7. Remove the O-ring from the water bypass pipe.
