Connect Engine and Transmission
1. Install drive plate as follows:
(a) Apply adhesive Part No. 08333-00070, or equivalent, to two or three threads of the mounting bolt end.
(b) Install the front drive plate spacer, drive plate and rear plate on the crankshaft.
(c) Install and uniformly tighten the mounting bolts in several passes to 83 Nm (850 kg.cm, 61 ft.lb).
2. Install transmission to engine as follows:
(a) Attach the transmission to the engine.
(b) Install the engine wire bracket and 10 bolts, then tighten as follows:
14 mm head bolts: 37 Nm (380 kg.cm, 27 ft.lb).
17 mm head bolts: 72 Nm (730 kg.cm, 53 ft.lb).
(c) Apply adhesive part No.08833-00070, or equivalent, to two or three threads of the torque converter bolts end.
(d) Turn the crankshaft pulley bolt with a wrench, and install the six bolts, then evenly tighten to 41 Nm (420 kg.cm, 30 ft.lb).
NOTE: First install the dark green colored bolt, install the other bolts.
(e) Install the flywheel housing under cover with the 2 bolts, then tighten to 18.5 Nm (185 kg.cm, 14 ft.lb).
3. Install oil cooler pipe for transmission.
4. Install oil dipstick guide and dipstick for transmission as follows:
(a) Install a new O-ring to the dipstick guide.
(b) Apply soapy water to the O-ring.
(c) Connect the dipstick guide end to the dipstick tube of the oil pan.
(d) Install the dipstick guide with the bolt.
(e) Install the dipstick.
5. Connect the following engine wiring and clamps to transmission:
- Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) connector.
- Park Neutral Position (PNP) switch connector.
- Solenoid connector.
- Direct clutch speed sensor connector.
- 4 wire clamps to bracket.
