Trunk / Liftgate: Testing and Inspection

TROUBLESHOOTING
This system uses the multiplex communication system. so check diagnosis system of the multiplex communication system before you proceed with troubleshooting.
The table above will be useful for you in troubleshooting these electrical problems. The most likely causes of the malfunction are shown in the order of their probability. Inspect each part in the order shown, and replace the part when it is found to be faulty.

LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR KEY LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH INSPECTION








1. INSPECT SWITCH CONTINUITY
If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch. If continuity is as specified. inspect the switch circuit.








2. INSPECT SWITCH CIRCUIT
Disconnect the connector from the body ECU and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.
If the circuit is not as specified, replace the wire harness.

LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SWITCH AND OPENER SWITCH INSPECTION








1. INSPECT OPENER MAIN SWITCH CONTINUITY
If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch. If continuity is as specified, inspect the switch circuit.








2. INSPECT OPENER SWITCH CONTINUITY
If continuity is not as specified. replace the switch. If continuity is as specified. inspect the switch circuit.








3. INSPECT SWITCH CIRCUIT
Disconnect the connector from the body ECU and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown.
If the circuit is not as specified. replace the wire harness.

LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MOTOR INSPECTION





1. INSPECT MOTOR OPERATION
Connect positive (+) lead to the opener motor connector and negative (-) lead to the body of the opener motor, and check that the motor operates.








2. INSPECT MOTOR CIRCUIT
Disconnect the connector from the motor and inspect the connector on the wire harness side. as shown.
If the circuit is as specified, inspect the circuits connected to other parts.
