Brake Fluid Pump: Service and Repair

TRAC Pump And Accumulator Assembly:

REMOVAL
1. Drain out high pressure fluid. Service and Repair

Disconnect Brake Line From The Accumulator:





2. Disconnect brake line.
Using Special Service Tool (SST) # 09751-36011, disconnect the brake line from the Accumulator.
Torque: 15 Nm (155 kg.cm, 11 ft. lbs.)
3. Remove TRAC Pump and Accumulator assembly.
(a) Disconnect the connector and brake hose.
(b) Remove 2 nuts, bolts and TRAC Pump and Accumulator assembly.
Torque: Bolt 12 Nm (125 kg.cm, 9 ft. lbs.)
Nut 19 Nm (195 kg.cm, 14 ft. lbs.)


DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove pressure hose.
(a) Remove the union bolt and 2 O-rings.
Torque: 46 Nm (465 kg.cm, 34 ft. lbs.)
(b) Remove the union bolt with bleeder plug, 2 0-rings and pressure hose.
Torque: 46 Nm (465 kg.cm, 34 ft. lbs.)
2. Remove TRAC Pump.
(a) Remove the bolt and TRAC Pump assembly from No.1 pump bracket.
Torque: 7.8 Nm (80 kg.cm, 69 inch lbs.)
(b) Remove the 3 bushings, 2 wave washers and collar from the pump assembly.
(c) Remove the 4 bolts and No.2 pump bracket from the pump.
Torque: 7.8 Nm (80 kg.cm, 69 inch lbs.)
3. Remove Accumulator.
(a) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 washers, 4 bushings, 2 spacers and Accumulator assembly from No.1 pump bracket.
Torque: 7.8 Nm (80 kg.cm, 69 inch lbs.)
(b) Remove the nut, 2 washers, bracket and bushing from the accumulator.
Torque: 7.8 Nm (80 kg.cm, 69 inch lbs.)
4. Properly dispose of TRAC Accumulator.

Disposal Method Of TRAC Accumulator:





(a) Loosen the gas plug about 2 turns to a position where the gas can leak out.
(b) After confirming that all the gas has been drained out remove the gas plug and dispose of the Accumulator.

NOTE: If the gas does not leak out even after the gas plug has been loosened 2 turns, repeat the operation, turning the gas plug a half turn to the left or right.

ASSEMBLY
Assembly is in the reverse order of disassembly.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
After installation, fill brake reservoir with brake fluid.
^ Bleed brake system. Service and Repair
^ Bleed TRAC system. Service and Repair
^ Check for leaks.
